Step 1 of 6 · The floor
The floor moves both ways.
A tool people pay for on Monday can be a free default button by Wednesday. This step takes about ten minutes. Name the free thing your buyer would use instead of you, then say how much of your offer it replaces.
The one idea
The commodity floor is what buyers can now get cheaply or for free. It doesn't only go down. Platforms push it both ways:
Giveaway ↓
A paid trick becomes cheap, bundled or free. Anyone selling only that trick loses their reason to be paid.
Clawback ↑
A platform takes back something that used to be free. A gap you can charge for reopens, but only until the platform moves again.
One more twist from the same keynote: Google did not give away its background agent, Spark. It went only to the top paid plan in the United States. "Google made it free" is never the whole story.
What this means for you: cheap AI hurts people who sell only the AI. It can help people who sell the finished job around it.
Your blank
My buyer's best free alternative is ___.
Count the boring options too: a free chatbot, a template, a spreadsheet, a friend who helps, or not doing the job at all.
